Biography: Noor Sulastry Yurni Dato’ Ahmad is Associate Professor of Leadership and Comparative Study. Her interest in the field has evolved to a focus on Malaysia, South Korea and Japan politics to leadership, particularly pertaining the political culture, leadership and youth political participation. Her first book Hegemoni dalam Budaya Politik Melayu (Hegemony in Malay Political Culture) was published in 2014. Her latest book Sekilas Bicara Politik Malaysia (A Glance of Malaysia’s Political Discourse) was recently published in 2017. Her writings have also published in indexed international academic journals and local journals. Noor Sulastry has supervised numerous undergraduate and postgraduate theses/dissertations since he joined the academia in 2003. She has offered consultancy services to several agencies/organizations including the Ministry of Federal Territory, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ministry of Higher Education, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Home Affairs, think tanks and NGOs. Noor Sulastry has been appointed as scholar and laureate of Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies (2011-2012) and Visiting Researcher at the Institute of International Studies, Seoul National University, Seoul, South Korea. Her expertise in local politics especially youth political participation has led to the appointment of Research Fellow of Foundation of Research Transformation (FORT) from 2015-2016 and Board of Director of Institute for Youth Research Malaysia (IYRES) from 2019-2022. Noor Sulastry has been appointed as Visiting Lecturer at Razak School of Government (RSOG).  Currently, she has been appointed as the Visiting Fellow of Institute Journalism Studies, Universiti Teknologi Mara, Shah Alam and Chairman of IYRES Human Resource Management Committee. Her passion for writing articles and putting her thoughts on paper grows more intense, she has been writing actively as columnist in local newspapers and magazines namely Column Sekilas, Utusan Malaysia (2010-2011), Khabar dari Seoul, Dewan Masyarakat (2011-2012), Analisis, Harian Metro (2012-2014), Kosmo! (2015-2017) and Sinar Harian (2017-to date). Noor Sulastry is an Associate member of Political Cluster, Security and International Affairs & Cluster of Social Development and Wellbeing, National Professor Council.
