He has six books and monographs, 32 articles in national and international journals, and more than 35 articles in local and international seminars and conferences. He actively involved in research projects in the area of social and business informatics, e-business/e-commerce, information systems evaluation, web design and evaluation, knowledge management, and wireless applications. To date, he has completed 12 research projects funded by various agencies including the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Corporation and the Ministry of Higher Education (Malaysia). In recognition of his works, he has several research and innovation awards including a gold medal in IPTA Research and Innovation Exhibition Malaysia 2005 (Title: electronic collaborative marketing), silver medals in Malaysia Technology Exhibition (MTE) in 2006 (Title: eInfoC n eMPay – Collaborative e-Solution for Scholarly Publications), 2008 (Title: Mobile Learning System Prototype – MLSP, and M-Fishery – Mobile Knowledge Dissemination System in Fishery) and 2010 (Title: Blog Influence Analyser – BIA), silver medals in the 31st World Exhibition on Innovation and New Invention, Geneva 2008 (Title: Agent-Assisted e-Decision Matrix: ep-Matrix & md-Matrix), and a silver medal in Seoul International Invention Fair, Korea 2008 (Title: Electronic Purchasing Decision Making eTool). His best achievement is the award of Public Service Innovation Award (AIPA 2007) for his Online Practicum Student Placement system project. Some of his research works have been commercialised which include e-publishing (currently used by UUM) and Blog Influence Analyser (presently used by SKMM). He is chief editor of the International Postgraduate Business Journal (IPBJ), a member of Malaysian Management Journal (MMJ) editorial board and reviewer for several international journals. On supervision, he has successfully supervised 25 doctoral/master’s students to completion and is currently supervising 10 PhD students in various information systems related areas. He has been appointed as PhD thesis examiner on a regular basis (more than 40 times) either by UUM as the internal examiner or by other Malaysian universities (e.g. UKM, UiTM, UTP, UMP, UNITEN, UTM, and MMU) as the external examiner. He is a member of Malaysian Information Technology Society (MITS), Qualitative Research Association Malaysia (QRAM), Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce Academic Committee, and several other professional associations.
