Biography: Dr. Sahar E-Vahdati is a senior lecturer at Othman Yeop Abdullah Graduate School of Business (OYAGSB), Universiti Utara Malaysia. She received her Ph.D. in Accounting with high distinction from the University of Malaya (UM). She has many international awards and certificates (e.g., Fellow Chartered Management Institute of UK, Malaysian Institute of Accountants, Emerald Teaching case study winner in 2020). She won an International grant from the Sumitomo Foundation of Japan in 2019/2020 for the subject related to Board compensation and ESG disclosure in the ASEAN region and Japan. Additionally, she has received the well-known Malaysian National Grant from the Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia. She is an active researcher. Her research manuscripts have been published in various academic journals, and conference papers including ISI-indexed and ABDC, Scopus, and ABS rankings. One of her articles was designated for the consolidation prize and merit award from MIA (Malaysian Institute of Accounting) in 2015. She has been a keynote speaker and organizer of some international academic-industry training workshops. She is an Editorial Advisory Board Member of the Management Decision Journal and International Journal of Emerging Markets in Emerald, and an Editorial Board Member of the Asia-Pacific Journal of Business Administration of Emerald publisher. She has a certificate in the experiential Learning Teaching Method Program from Harvard/ Stanford and Yale universities. Before joining the School, Sahar was a senior researcher and lecturer at the Faculty of Business and Accountancy at UM University for four years. She has also conducted training on the Thomson Reuters database, Eikon, and research tools to graduate and undergraduate students. Her area of research interests and work are mostly in ESG, financial and sustainability reporting, corporate governance, and management.
