Alumni Hi-Tea 2016

MBA ALUMNI CLUB MEMBERS URGED TO CONTRIBUTE TOWARDS THE DEVELOPMENT OF OYAGSB AND UUM

Alor Setar - Members of the MBA UUM Alumni Club are encouraged to be actively involved with the university activities and share their valuable experience and expertise to facilitate and foster the academic success of UUM. This alliance will certainly facilitate the university’s efforts to uphold and at the same time enhance the reputation of the Othman Yeop Abdullah Graduate School of Business (OYAGSB) at the national and international levels.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Prof Dr. Noor Azizi Ismail said, members of the UUM MBA Alumni Club are welcomed to share their ideas, expertise and leadership experience and assist the university to continue to nurture future business leaders. 

"Until 2015, UUM has produced approximately 5,328 MBA graduates in various disciplines including accountancy, finance, project management, supply chain management as well as tourism and hospitality management.

"The achievements and contributions of OYAGSB alumni are certainly noteworthy especially in the corporate sector. Likewise, our alumni also hold important positions in the government and some turned out to be notable political leaders and successful entrepreneurs," said Prof. Dr. Noor Azizi during the Hi-Tea Reception of the MBA Alumni Club. The event was held at TH Hotel and Convention Centre recently.

The MBA programme at UUM was first offered in 1995. The first batch saw the enrolment of six students and these students have successfully completed their studies in 1997.

A total of 40 UUM MBA Alumni from Kedah, Perlis, Perak, Penang, Kelantan and Kuala Lumpur attended this inaugural gathering.

At the same event, Prof. Dr. Noor Azizi launched the MBA Alumni Club and handed over the appointment letter to the club interim committee, led by Mr. Abdul Ghafur Hanafi.

Also present at the gathering were the Dean of OYAGSB, Prof. Dr. Zeljko Sevic and OYAGSB officers.
