Biography: Mohd Zaini Abd Karim is Professor of Economics. He has served Universiti Utara Malaysia as Dean of Academic Development, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics, and Director of the Institute for Economic Research. He is currently Chief Editor of Journal of Business Management and Accounting and editorial board member of the International Journal of Banking and Finance (IJBF), Journal of Business and Finance, and Journal of Emerging Issues in Economics, Finance and Banking (JEIEFB). He has successfully supervised 16 PhD students in economics and has presented academic papers at various seminars/conferences in which he has won several awards for best conference paper. His works have been published in various ISI-indexed journals such as Global Economic Review, The European Journal of Finance, Singapore Economic Review, Housing Studies, Current Issues in Tourism, International Journal of Tourism Research, and Studies in Higher education, and Prague Economic Papers. His works have also appeared in books volume published by Physica-Verlag, Praeger, the Malaysian Strategic Research Centre, and the Global Cooperation Institute for Sustainable Cities. He has also served as ad-hoc reviewer for various ISI-indexed journals such as Review of Industrial Organization, Economic Modelling, Economic Change and Restructuring, Journal of Economics and Business, International Review of Economics and Finance, Current Issues in Tourism, and Asia Pacific Management Review. His excellence in research and publication was rewarded when he received the Best Research Award in 2014 and the Best Publication Award in 2001, 2007, and 2017 from Universiti Utara Malaysia. He is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma (The Honour Society for Collegiate Schools of Business) and a life member of the Malaysian Economic Association.
