OYAGSB BIZTALKS ENLIGHTENS DIGITALISATION OF PROPERTY MANAGEMENT

UUM ONLINE: Othman Yeop Abdullah Graduate School of Business (OYAGSB) continues to expand its partnership with industry by integrating the perspective of experienced practitioners into academic lectures through the OYAGSB BIZTALK series. Thereafter, opportunities for research with practical applications may arise.

Red Ideas Holdings Berhad Co-Founders and Non-Independent Executive Director, Mr. David Foo provided key insights into the digitalisation of property management. The holding company, through its subsidiaries, offers a platform for emergency calls, intercoms, visitor management systems, real-time noticeboards, facility booking and community providers known as "JaGaApp", a mobile app-based solution available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

He said, the holding company has continuously explored new ways to offer different solutions for different customer needs: JaGaCard (access card system), JaGaRonda (security management), JaGaCount (accounting), JaGaPay (payment solution), JaGaLocker (parcel locker) and JaGaWorks (task management).

Following the introduction of new core and add-on products, the holding company markets its products under the name "JaGaSolution", a comprehensive solution platform for all aspects of asset, facility and real estate management.

The company has over 500 clients with more than 150,000 residential units, making it the largest provider of property management systems in Malaysia and has since expanded into Indonesia. In the early stages of its growth, market surveys were conducted on the potential need for mobile app-based communication services between residents, security staff and management offices in residential communities.

The OYAGSB BIZTALK was conducted through the online platform Webex and OYAGSB FB Live. Participants included students from the OYAGSB DBA programme taking the BDMM 8033 Global Strategic Marketing and Competitive Analysis course.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Dean of Research, Innovation, and Corporate Relations at OYAGSB, Prof. Ts. Dr. Norazah Mohd Suki, said the sharing session supports The Malaysian Education Plan 2015-2025 (Higher Education), which emphasizes the need to take university-industry collaboration to the next level by enabling the latter to lead curriculum design and delivery through partnership models such as apprenticeships, practical training, real-life simulations and special training programmes for employers.
