OYAGSB BIZTALK ENLIGHTENS ON US MALAYSIA GLOBAL MARKETING TRADE AND STRATEGIES

UUM ONLINE: Othman Yeop Abdullah Graduate School of Business (OYAGSB) continues to expand its collaboration with industry by linking theoretical and business perspectives in academic lectures to provide more opportunities for applied research and experiential learning.

American Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM Malaysia) Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Siobhan Das imparts key insights on ‘US-Malaysia Global Marketing Trade and Strategies - Way Forward’ to 300 participants including students from OYAGSB DBA Programme, through the online platform Webex during the BDMM 8033 Global Strategic Marketing and Competitive Analysis course, recently.

The aforesaid OYAGSB BIZTALK enriches participants' understanding of AMCHAM's key roles and activities to promote a mutually beneficial business environment and advocate for its members' interests.

AMCHAM is the voice of US businesses in Malaysia, providing relevant business information to its members and actively serving as a platform to represent members' interests to Malaysian and US stakeholders to discuss and exchange views on business conditions, both domestic and international, that impact members' interests.

The Chamber organises a variety of business and social networking events that enable members to interact and build closer relationships with Malaysian businesses and local communities. These events cover four key areas: Advocacy and Government Relations, Communications, Events and Programmes, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programmes.

"AMCHAM provides a platform for its members to network with each other and government officials, and offers various support services such as business matchmaking and market entry assistance," she added.

According to Ms. Siobhan, AMCHAM's main activity is to engage with government officials and policymakers to advocate for policies that support open trade, investment, and fair business practices.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Dean of Research, Innovation, and Corporate Relations at OYAGSB, Prof. Ts. Dr. Norazah Mohd Suki, said the sharing session supports The Malaysian Education Plan 2015-2025 (Higher Education), which emphasises the need to take university-industry collaboration to the next level by enabling the latter to lead curriculum design and delivery through partnership models such as apprenticeships, practical training, real-life simulations and special training programmes for employers.
