UUM FEMALE PROFESSOR IS AMONGST THE WORLD'S TOP 2% SCIENTISTS

UUM ONLINE: An esteemed Professor of Marketing and E-Business at Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Prof. Ts. Dr. Norazah Mohd Suki has garnered international recognition, positioning her as a leading authority in the field of marketing and e-commerce.

Her name has been listed in the World's Top 2% Scientists across various fields for the year 2023, which was announced last week by Stanford University, United States.

She has consistently been listed in the Single Year Achievement category for the fifth consecutive year since 2019 and has also been included in the Career-Long category for the third consecutive year in the World's list of the Top 2% Scientists for the field of business and economics.

The position of Professor of Marketing and E-Business at UUM's Othman Yeop Abdullah Graduate School of Business (OYAGSB) had a significant improvement, surpassing 3,000 positions in the world ranking compared to the previous year.

UUM Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Mohd. Foad Sakdan extends his congratulations to her for elevating the reputation of UUM on the world stage and serving as a source of inspiration for other academics.

"These two recognitions have indirectly elevated UUM’s standing on the global map of scientific research excellence, which brings pride to both the university and the country," he said.

The recognition that is considered the most prestigious worldwide refers to data released by Elsevier BV, Stanford University, based in the United States, starting in 2019.

Prof. Norazah has recently published over 400 papers with a SCOPUS h-index of 32. Additionally, her work has received over 3,000 citations on the SCOPUS database and over 9,000 citations on Google Scholar.

She also holds the position of Principal Research Fellow of the Institute of Sustainable, Growth, and Urban Development (ISGUD) at UUM Kuala Lumpur and serves as an Associate Principal Research Fellow of a public university.

"Praise be to Allah, I am very grateful for this recognition and wish to continue to spread the UUM brand on the world stage.

"The success of being listed in the World's Top 2% Scientists is indicative of the widespread adoption of my research output by international researchers, as evidenced by the number of citations received from reputable publications in high-impact journals," said Dr Norazah.

Prior to this, Prof. Norazah was honoured with the esteemed title of Best Professor in Marketing Studies at the 14th CMO Asia Award for Excellence in Education held in Singapore.

Moreover, she holds the distinction of being the second female professor from Malaysia to occupy an esteemed position with a notable publication output, as recognised by the ABDC Journal Quality List 2019 Ranking.
