UUM ONLINE: Othman Yeop Abdullah Graduate School of Business (OYAGSB) continues to strengthen its collaboration and cooperation through CSR and Sustainabilty Programme with UKM Specialist Children’s Hospital (HPKK).
Recently, MBA students Mdm. Mardiana Ishak, Mdm. Mazlin Mohtaruddin, Chu Siew Yong, Ng Kai Yee, and Sze Tiing Tan, under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zaleha Othman, initiated the Book Donation for Mini Library and Distribution of Goody Bags at Paediatric Ward programme. The programme was carried out in order to fulfil the requirements for the OMMU 6013 course, which focuses on business ethics, CSR, and sustainability.
The Dean of OYAGSB, Prof. Dr. Abu Bakar Hassan, along with other OYAGSB staff members, also participated in the project. They were given a warm welcome by Datin Dr. Anita Sulong, the Deputy Director of HPKK, as well as other HPKK staff members.
The project involved donating books for a mini library as well as distributing goody bags in the paediatric ward. The goody bags contained milk that was sponsored by Farm Fresh, colouring books, and colouring pencils.
The project aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG No. 4: Quality Education; and SDG No. 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities.
The book donation event aims to promote literacy and education among children in particular. As MBA students from OYAGSB, we are proud to have collaborated with HPKK on this meaningful initiative, and we hope that this will be an ongoing endeavour.
