SUSTAINABILITY COLLABORATION BETWEEN OYAGSB AND TABUNG HAJI

UUM ONLINE: Kuala Lumpur - Two Othman Yeop Abdullah Graduate School of Business (OYAGSB) lecturers, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zaleha Othman and Prof. Dr. Wan Nordin Wan Hussin were invited by Lembaga Tabung Haji to deliver a plenary lecture on ‘Sustainability in Business: Does it Matter?’ recently.

The event was held at the Dewan Besar, Menara Tabung Haji and was part of the programme curated in conjunction with the Tabung Haji Risk and Compliance Awareness Week.

The lecture was attended by the board members, senior management and employees of the Tabung Haji Group and include topics such as understanding sustainability and environmental, social and governance (ESG), the seven steps towards sustainability in business, ESG rating divergence, and case studies on corporate social irresponsibility.

The Chief Risk and Compliance Officer of Tabung Haji, Syahril Nizam Abu Hasan, who organised the event said, "The top management at Tabung Haji is very pleased with the deliberation by both speakers".

As a follow up, Tabung Haji Group and OYAGSB is collaborating to develop the sustainability framework for Tabung Haji in accordance with Maqasid Shariah.

During the Risk and Compliance Awareness Week, UUMKL and OYAGSB also took the opportunity to set up a booth to promote its myriad academic programmes to the employees of the Tabung Haji Group.
