Professor Dr. Zaleha Othman is a Professor of Sustainability and Forensic Accounting. She completed her Ph.D. (2011), master’s in business law (2002), Degree in Accountancy (1996), Diploma in Accountancy (1989). She was a visiting scholar at Cass Business School, London (UK) in 2014. She has been working with UUM for more than 20 years. Currently holds position as Director of Doctor of Management/ Philosophy. She teaches postgraduates courses such as Sustainability and Business, Accounting Fraud and Forensic Investigation, Qualitative Methodology, Data Analysis, Business Research Methodology, Fundamental Management and Sustainability and Business Ethics, CSR And Sustainability. She has conducted about thirty research, which topics include, sustainability, ESG research, corruption, ethics governance. Her research projects mostly funded by Transparency International Germany, Saudi Arabia Education Ministry, Ministry of Education Malaysia, National Accountant Department. She has about sixty publications, which includes Scopus journals, peer reviewed journal, and proceedings. She also co-authored several chapters in books. Frequently presented in international conferences, and national events on topics related to her research fields. Frequently invited as speaker and workshop facilitator on qualitative research, and Sustainability (ESG), both at International and National level. She has successfully supervised eleven postgraduates and three masters. Also, currently supervising eight students. Also, appointed as internal and external examiners in several higher education institutions. She received the UUM Excellence Service Award in 2017 and Best Research Award OYAGSB in 2019. Previously received articles of Merit Award, in 2016 and 2013 from the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA). Recently, 2022 UUM award for MOOC Development. Also, editor board members in several Scopus journals such as Public Integrity (Q2), The Qualitative Report(Q1) and GBMR (Mycite). She is also a reviewer for several Scopus journals. A member of several professional bodies such as Accounting Certified Fraud Examiner (ACFE), Chartered Management Institute (CMI) UK and Transparency International Malaysia.
